NC Wilderness Week

Haywood Community College will be hosting their annual Wilderness Week April 28-May 2, 2021. The concept of this program is to provide Fire, EMS, Rescue, and Law Enforcement personnel with the opportunity to train and receive state certifications relative to the Search and Rescue field. If the class does not carry a state certification, it will count toward continuing education.
RAT-SAR personnel will be assistant instructors for the Advanced Wilderness Rescue portion of this class. Anyone interested in participating should contact Dee Massey (dmassey@haywood.edu) with Haywood Community College.
COVID-19 STATEMENT
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the participation in group activities in which social distancing is difficult, if not impossible, is likely to result in the increased chance of exposure to the virus, which may increase the likelihood of contracting the disease. By participating in this activity, you represent that you have been informed of these risks and voluntarily assume the risks of potential infection of the disease. You also understand that there is the possibility that you may transmit the disease to others, even if you do not show symptoms of the disease.
